SATURDAY MORNING
Turning Point Stalingrad
Period: WWII
Players: 4-6
Length: 4-6 hours
Presented by Grady West
Turning Point Stalingrad is a miniatures version of the old
Avalon Hill boardgame. The terrain board is 14ft. long x 6ft. wide, with around
400 buildings representing the city and outlying areas next to the Volga
river. But don't let the size intimidate. The game is an area movement system,
so no measuring tapes are necessary. Turns are divided into semi-simultaneous
"impulses" with only a few units moving at a time.
Advantages during day and night turns, that each side had
historically, are reflected in this visually stunning, tactically challenging,
yet easy playing game.
Though the campaign can be played through late November, just
the first week of the battle is played for convention purposes. Victory points
are awarded to the Germans for taking Mamayev Kurgan and/or areas along the
Volga river. After the first week, if the Germans have taken enough areas
for the required amount of victory points, they win. If not, they lose.
Storm Over the North Sea!
Period: WWI Naval

Rules: Age of Reason
Presented by Alex MacDonald
A force of British regulars, supported by colonial militia,
are
attacking a small French outpost in the back country of New
York that
blocks their path to the Great Lakes. The British have numbers
on
their side, but the French regulars and their Canadian militia
have
prepared field works in a good position on high ground behind
a creek.
Do the Brits have what it takes to storm the works? Can the
French
hold on against the odds?

Wittmann's Last Battle (St. Aigan de Cramesnil)
Period: WWII 1/187 scale
Players: 4-8
Length 2-4 hours
Rules: Rapid Fire house rules
Presented by Scott Davis
Historians still debate whether a 17 pounder shell from a Firefly
or a rocket from a tempest did him in, but all agree on one thing: Wittman
is dead.
Wittmann will be alive during the beginning of the battle,
but it will be up to the German players to keep him from being killed.
His tank will have the strongest firepower, a faster speed than the regular
Tiger I's, and the toughest armor. There will be PZ IV's and Tiger I's
attacking the British army that have Shermans and Fireflies.
BATTLE OF TOFREK
Period: 15mm British Colonial
Players: 6-12
Length: 4-5 hours
Rules: Homegrown-The Mahdis Revenge
Presented by: Hizzoner Robert Koffman
This is a historical game set in the Eastern Sudan in 1885. Tofrek was 5-8
miles southwest of Suakin on the Indian Ocean coast. General McNeal marched
his column to Tofrek and began the construction of a camp consisting of interlocking
Zerebas (defensive positions). He was attacked before he completed that construction
by Osman Digna and his Hadendowa warriors (Fuzzy Wuzzys). It was a near run
thing. War to the knife.
At Borderwars 2002, Robert Koffman won the HAHMGS Best Display
award for this Game.
3pm-4pm
SATURDAY
Battle of Natchez Trace, 1795
Period: 28mm 18th century horse and musket
Players: 2-4
Length 2-4 hours
Rules: Rocket's Red Glare
Presented by Michael Machell
After defeating the Indians at the Battle of Fallen Timbers
in August 1794, General "Mad" Anthony Wayne is ordered by President Washington
to march on Natchez in the disputed Mississippi territory. The Americans want
to open the Mississippi River to American traders who wish to send goods on
to New Orleans.
The Spanish control the river access to New Orleans and have
repeatedly limited access to the Americans, ruining commerce and angering
western settlers. The Spanish send an army of their own to let the upstart
republic know that they are willing to defend their claims to the region and
to protect New Orleans.
Can the Americans take New Orleans by force in 1795 instead
of purchasing it from Napoleon eight years later? Or will the Spanish tenaciously
hold on to their colonial territory despite the expansionist intentions of
the Americans?

players: 3-6
Rules: The Duke of Mars

to glory. Once you cross the bridge of eternity there is supposed to
