Saturday Afternoon
Avalon Hill Diplomacy (noon start)
WWI Strategic / 5-7 players / Boardgame
This classic game of pure negotiation. If you know how to write, and how to stab someone in the back while shaking thier hand, then you already know how to play.
In the game, players represent one of the seven "Great Powers of Europe" (Great Britain, France, Austria, Germany, Italy, Russia or Turkey) in the years prior to World War I.
There are only two kinds of military units: armies and fleets. On any given turn, each of your military units has limited options: they can move into an adjoining territory, support an allied unit in an attack on an adjoining territory, support an allied unit in defending an adjoining territory, or hold their position.
Players instruct each of their units by writing a set of "orders." The outcome of each turn is determined by the rules of the game. There are no dice rolls or other elements of chance.
It's the most pure wargame and RPG ever, at the same time!

BATTLETECH: SHOWDOWN ON THE ROCK
Early morning patrols suck, but finding out you are one of eight surviving 'Mechwarriors on the planet with only four cargo bays available in the last remaining DropShip made your bad day worse.
The were two Merc units stuck on this far periphery mining colony. All was going well, easy money protecting your clients, the occasional brawl in a local bar with the rival Mercs on the planet (you really never did like them), and not a pirate to be seen. Easy money until the reactor blew and all civilization on the planet was placed in jeopardy. Luckily, your team was on patrol when disaster struck. Rushing back to the colony with a radioactive dust cloud chasing you, you find one Leopard class DropShip at the spaceport. Oh, and it looks like a your rivals survived and are heading towards the same DropShip.
Who gets a ride off this rock and who gets left behind to cook in the radiation cloud? Good luck!
All pilots are G3/P4. ALL MECHS & MECH SHEETS WILL BE PROVIDED.
